Da Vinci Primary School mission, or in other words how we put the IB mission into practice and what we do for our students.
The eight year long education at Da Vinci’s International Primary School’s international, culturally diverse learning environment, shapes eloquent, reliable, creative and emphatic young people.
We support our students in their drive for academic success.
We teach by posing questions, experiencing and acting. Our students’ knowledge is further enhanced by a transdisciplinary approach to teaching. Through such efforts, young people are able to solve problems independently and creatively, by integrating their knowledge and skills from across various disciplines of science and art. We pose intellectual challenges, which develop students’ logical and critical thinking and prepare them to continue bilingual education at high school level.
We accompany our students in their processes of becoming responsible and sensitive teenagers.
We often encourage them to imagine being in someone else’s shoes, so that our students realise how valuable it is to consider problems from a wider perspective and take into account various points of view. We come from different cultures and parts of the world. When we talk, we respect common values as well as that which makes us different. We support students in creative development and in cultivating their own talents. We help them formulate short and long term goals, so that in achieving them students strengthen their own self confidence and sense of agency.
At Da Vinci we promote values which build and enhance interpersonal relationships.
- Respect
- Intercultural understanding
- Open minded communication
- Responsibility
- Integrity
- Empathy
Da Vinci Primary School vision, or in other words, goals which we are aiming for.
The goal of our school is to provide education of the highest quality in accordance with the framework and international standards set forth by the IBO, an education which will constitute a foundation for making conscious choices and decisions in adult life.
A Da Vinci Primary School graduate is:
– A leader of change, aware of their contribution to the development of local and global community.
– A global citizen, who understands, respects and promotes multicultural ideas.
– A relentless and inquisitive student, one who sees the value of continual acquisition of knowledge and improvement of their skills.
We learn and grow up in an international learning environment, and as such, the International Mindedness or “international awareness” idea is close to our hearts – an attitude of understanding and respect to other cultures and nationalities.
At Da Vinci Primary School we explore different cultures, learn foreign languages, celebrate cultural events from various parts of the world, organise subject specific events and festivals and take part in international exchange programmes.
